Here’s a note from the Friends of the Pawtuxet about Saturday’s market: The Pawtuxet Village Farmers Market is going strong with a wide variety of produce. Last week we had, leeks, lettuce, many varieties of apples, many colors of peppers, pumpkins, potatoes, onions, garlic, shallots, sweet potatoes, celeriac, honey, cherry tomatoes, basil, acorn squash, butternut squash, tomatoes, bread, carrots and egg plant. The late frost has allowed for a longer season.
The market will be open until November 22 (the Saturday before Thanksgiving). You will have to wear a coat, but you will not have to worry about your vegetables wilting.
Mark and Betty Garrison sold all 45 pounds of paw paws they brought to the Pumpkin and Paw Paw Festival last weekend. We will try to have some paw paws on Saturday, but the Garrisons report the fruit ripened early this year and they may not have many more.
