Geometry in the Square
Six Rolfe Square businesses collaborated with RISD architecture students to redesign their storefronts. The students, pictured above with Mayor Allan Fung, made use of laser-cut paper throughout their installations, lending the designs a geometric feel.
The project, organized by the Artists’ Exchange, is meant to combine “beautiful historic storefront windows” and “design that creates a ‘wow’ factor” to attract customers to the shopping district, according to Artists’ Exchange director Elaine McKenna-Yeaw.
I like the way the windows look after dark, so I took some shaky night shots of the windows and added a few to the slideshow below. This installations will be up until the end of the month.
