Maybe Not As Rough, But Very Moist
This is a map of today’s tornado outlook. Some of the elements in the atmosphere that made yesterday’s storms severe are missing from today’s weather – so the risk is slightly decreased. But once again there is the chance that some storms could pummel you with hail, electrocute your pets and blow away your lawn furniture, so watch the forecast before you head outside and heed the warnings.
Also on the menu is a chance of copious amounts of moisture. The National Weather Service in Taunton issued a flood watch effective through late tonight:
WIDESPREAD RAINFALL TOTALS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED… BRINGING THE POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING. ISOLATED TOTALS UP TO 5 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE. GIVEN THE POTENTIAL FOR TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS…THE THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING EXISTS AS WELL… ESPECIALLY IN URBAN AREAS.
Apply flippers and snorkel as needed.
