The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, has put much of the area in a slight risk for severe weather. If the pieces fall together (the sun comes out and heats the atmosphere up), the day could be dotted with scattered thunderstorms – possibly accompanied by hail, strong winds and very small rocks shaped like angry monkeys. To make things interesting, there’s even a slight chance for an isolated tornado or two, especially the further west you go.
Like any weather event, this could easily end up being a dud. But be cautious if you’re outdoors today, especially in the afternoon – and check the forecast before you head out.
