Today, we hear from Rupert Friday, of the RI Land Trust Council. If a land conservation bond is not put on the ballot this fall, funding for the state’s farmland protection and open space grants programs – that have been effective since 1985 – will end.

Good news from Cranston in regards to Open Space and conservation. On Monday night, the City Council approved an Open Space bond resolution request and it’ll now be forwarded to the General Assembly. If they approve it, it’ll be on November’s ballot.
