Pawtuxet
Farmers' Market Fun
2008-06-19This Saturday, the Pawtuxet Village Farmers Market officially opens its sixth season in the Rhodes on the Pawtuxet parking lot in Cranston with canoe rides, a wildflower walk and a used book sale, in addition to strawberries, spinach, lettuce, basil and a variety of other early spring vegetables.
Rethinking the Front Yard
2008-06-01One of the ways to break the shackles of that resource-hungry lawn is to replace the grass altogether. This non-lawn front yard from Kneeland Street benefits from its small size. The early-spring pic shows that this is obviously the yard of someone who loves to garden. This is not a plant-it-and-walk-away yard. The lazy gardener would probably be better served with the right selection of sustainable, carefree shrubs.
Gaspee Days Kicks Off
2008-05-26The village of Pawtuxet kicked off the Gaspee Days celebration with the Gaspee Days Arts and Crafts festival, a mini-carnival, pony rides and live music all weekend long.
